IT’s your last chance to have your say on how to get the people of Dudley and Sandwell into better shape.

What things would tempt you out more often to get fitter – either outside or in the gym or a fitness class?

That’s what a huge survey aims to find out so that new wellbeing campaigns and activities can be designed for the Black Country.

But this weekend is the last chance to fill out a short survey which is key to developing a fitter future.

While the survey will shape action across the Black Country, there are eight priority areas with lower targeted for pilot projects, including two in Dudley.

They are the Castle & Priory ward and the Woodside, Netherton & St Andrews area.

The online survey – which takes five minutes – asks residents to share their views, anonymously, on their physical activity levels, where they are active and what they consider physical activit.

Importantly, it also asks what reasons are stopping them from being active.

The findings will be shared to ensure councils, sports and leisure centres or clubs, health and social care providers and voluntary or community groups are working together to encourage physically active lifestyles.

Suzy Street-Hall and Angela Harvey Active Lifestyle Community Connector’s said: “We are seeking to get people active and moving more. To support this ambition we are trialling approaches across eight priority wards to develop a better understanding of resident needs in order to implement a community campaign to get people more active.”

Funded by Sport England, the Active Black Country group is leading the Black Country Moving project in partnership with the four Black Country Local Authorities and Local Council for Voluntary Service.

The survey is confidential and takes around five minutes to complete and closes on 8 March. https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/activeblackcountry
