A CRADLEY church will ring its bell 99 times at noon today in memory of HRH Prince Philip.
St Peter's Church will join churches across the nation in ringing a single bell half muffled at noon, as a tribute to Prince Philip who died yesterday at the age of 99.
The church on Church Road is open today and tomorrow during daylight hours for people who wish to remember the Duke.
A book of condolence is open and anyone wishing to sign should bring their own pen.
A spokesman for the church said: "As we don't yet have a flagpole and flags at St Peter's we are unable to fly a flag at half mast.
"However, we can toll a bell in remembrance.
We hope to live stream the tolling at 12 noon on our Facebook page - if the technology works!
"Many thanks to Andy and James for ringing the bell and counting the tolls today!
"We are raising funds for a flagpole as part of the Clock and Tower Project.
"A suitable flagpole and flags will cost around £3,000.
"Donations would be gratefully received!
"It would be a great achievement if we can get one before Remembrance Sunday in November."

If you wish to visit the church to remember the Duke, Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family, the church will be open today and tomorrow during daylight hours. Please bring your own pen if you wish to sign the book of condolence.
