A MAN from Brierley Hill has been jailed for 20 weeks after being found guilty of assault by Wolverhampton Magistrates.

Robert Mcintosh of Woodside Road was also handed a restraining order for the assault by strangulation that took place on January 4 and ordered to pay £100 in compensation.

On the same day, the 37-year-old pleaded guilty to damaging the victim’s car and washing machine and was served eight weeks in prison running concurrent to his main jail term.

Also at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court, a woman from Dudley was found guilty of assault.

Marie Ricketts of Corbyn Road, Russells Hall was handed a 20-week suspended sentence and a restraining order.

The 34-year-old was also ordered to pay £350 in compensation and £300 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

At Dudley Magistrates Court, a woman from Rowley Regis pleaded guilty to drink driving after consuming 90 micrograms of alcohol over the legal limit.

Cheryl Blakeway of Royal Oak Road received a 10-week suspended sentence after she drove a Ford KA on Dudley Road East under the influence of alcohol last November.

The 42-year-old was also ordered to attend alcohol treatment for six months, pay £128 in victim surcharges and is disqualified from holding a licence for 32 months.

Also at Dudley Magistrates, a man from Netherton pleaded guilty to failing to provide a breath specimen when driving.

Kuldip Jhalli from Church Road was handed a 15-week suspended sentence due to previous convictions.

The 48-year-old was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £128 and is disqualified from holding a licence for three years.

Also, before magistrates at Dudley, a man from Pensnett was found guilty of assault by beating that took place on January 10.

James Reece of Chapel street was handed a curfew with electric monitoring and a restraining order.

On January 11, the 33-year-old also damaged a bathroom window and a mobile phone was ordered to pay £150 compensation and surcharge of £95.
