HAGLEY'S popular Dial-a-Ride bus service has returned.

New operator Shencare Community Transport has recommenced its door to door service after it was paused, based on government guidance, just after Christmas.

A partnership with Hagley Parish Council and Worcestershire County Council, the service is available to Hagley residents who have difficulty accessing conventional public transport because of age, personal mobility issues or other factors.

The service is available Monday to Friday between 9.45am and 2pm.

Passengers must register to use it and bookings can be made by emailing shencarevt@yahoo.co.uk or calling 0121 476 1816 between 10.30am and 12.30pm.

Telephone bookings are preferred as journeys can be confirmed immediately as numbers on the bus are restricted due to Covid-19 guidelines.

Councillor Steve Colella, chairman of the service, said: "This really helps many people who may have difficulties in being able to get back to something that is approaching some level of normality.

"The year that we’ve all had has been particularly difficult for those that might already be feeling the effects of isolation."
