SAMUEL Hillen rode to victory out of an impressive field in Wyre Forest Cycle Racing Club's Challenge Road Races event on May 9.
The Ilkeston Cycle Club member led a field reduced to 60 riders due to Covid restrictions. Lucas Jewett and Kit Buchanan claimed second and third spot, in a field including Team GB riders as well as members of other professional teams.
In the women's race, Monica Greenwood, of Macclesfield, took top spot, followed home by Madalaine Leach and Ella Coleman.
Club chairman, Matthew Boazman, said: “We were treated to a superb day of racing with a packed field of talented local and national riders in both the men's and ladies' races.
"After the last year it was simply amazing to see racing taking place once more and to be able to showcase the fantastic support for cycling locally.”
