A STOURBRIDGE businesswoman has defied the odds during lockdown to launch her very own brand of nail products.

Jo Jones, owner of both Stourbridge Nail Studio and The Nail Training Academy in Clifton Street in the Old Quarter, saw her pioneering new brand Glitzy Tips praised in the April edition of Scratch Magazine - the largest and most prestigious publication of its kind in the whole of Europe.

Jo, who has won a string of top awards during her 19 years in the industry, has also been bravely battling breast cancer - another huge challenge she hopes she is on the verge of conquering.

Her Glitzy Tips brand covers all aspects of nail beauty, from acrylic powders to gels and more.

It was featured in the magazine - which also went online in May - under their 'Brand to Watch' feature, which highlights the very best of all new rising star products to come on the market.

Jo, pictured below, said: "It was just amazing to be featured.

"It has certainly helped push the brand along, and I'm now picking up online orders as a result too - I couldn't have been happier about it.

"Glitzy Tips is aimed at the middle market so is a great product for anyone to enjoy."

Meanwhile, Jo is now hopeful her five-year breast cancer ordeal is nearing an end as she prepares to finish her treatment and carve out a bright future through the new arm of her business.

Stourbridge News:

To help encourage people to spend their money locally as businesses emerge from months of restrictions and closure - we have relaunched our Love Local Business campaign.

This follows our successful campaign, of the same name, which we ran in the News Group last summer and over Christmas.

The aim is to promote the fantastic traders we have in our towns and urge readers to give them their custom at this key time.

As part of the Newsquest publishing group, the Stourbridge News reaches a large percentage of the local population with its print publication, record online audiences and social media.

Businesses wishing to be featured in the campaign can call 01905 742372 or email dale.godliman@localiq.co.uk.
