STOURBRIDGE MP Suzanne Webb joined 10-year-old fundraiser Emma Macklin on a walk at the weekend as the youngster continues to raise money for Mary Stevens Hospice.

Emma, who attends St James C of E Primary in Wollaston, is walking 30 miles each month for the Oldswinford based charity in memory of her grandmother Brenda Cadwallader.

Brenda was a volunteer at the hospice in Hagley Road for 15 years and later received end-of-life care there as she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer.

Suzanne and her dog Sid walked with Emma, her mom Lisa Cadwallader and uncle Ian Cadwallader and their dog Winnie for the last 5.8miles of her 30 miles for May.

They walked over Three Fields and Bunker’s Hill Wood.

With six months to go, Emma has already raised £2,425 of her £2,500 target.

Suzanne said: “It was an honour to join Emma and her family at the weekend for a walk to help such a great local cause.

“Emma is an inspiration and to have walked all this way and raised so much money is an achievement for anyone, let alone a 10-year-old.

“I have absolutely no doubt Emma will reach her target but, if anyone is able to help her then please donate and support the hospice and the wonderful work it does.”
