THE Mayor of Dudley had the second jab of the Covid-19 vaccine this week – and has urged all those who are eligible to follow suit.
Councillor Anne Millward, the borough's new first citizen, had her second dose of the vaccine at the Black Country Living Museum and afterwards urged people across Dudley to follow her lead - hailing it the best chance of returning to normality.
She said: "I’m pleased to report on both occasions it was a relatively painless process and I have had no side effects at all from the vaccine.
"For a big centre, it is superbly organised and I was in and out to get it done very quickly.
"The vaccine is the biggest weapon we have in the fight against the coronavirus and that is why I have had it, and I would urge everyone else in the borough to have it too."
Health chiefs say the NHS will contact residents as and when they become eligible for the vaccine via GPs, healthcare professionals and employers.
