POUNDLAND is extending the trial of its online delivery service to postcodes in the Stourbridge area.

The pilot was quietly tested earlier in the year by 18,000 colleagues and selected guests, offering more than 2,500 favourite products available for purchase online for home delivery.

After a positive response, the service was offered to households in Birmingham and Walsall postcodes last month; and now it is being rolled-out to customers in the Dudley area.

Online shoppers visiting Poundland’s pilot service at poundland.co.uk/shop can use the postcode checker and if their postcode is a match they will be automatically passed through to the shop without a need to register.

People living in Dudley, Brierley Hill, Stourbridge, Kingswinford and Tipton should all be able to use the online service.

All items available in the online shop will be the same price as those found in Poundland stores and will be delivered for a flat fee of £4 regardless of the order size.

Initial categories available to buy online include grocery, gardening, entertainment & DIY, PEP&CO Home, health and beauty, household and pet supplies, stationery and craft items.

Retail and transformation director Austin Cooke said: “After a positive response to our initial pilot, we’re extending it to new areas in the West Midlands."

Customers outside the initial delivery areas can register their interest in the service, which is operating from Poundland’s new fulfilment centre in Cannock through a partnership with delivery company Hermes.
