WORK at a former factory site in Brierley Hill is complete, bringing 65 news homes to the area.

The canal side development, on Canal Street, includes a mix of one and two bedroom apartments and two and three bedroom houses for affordable rent.

Housing provider, GreenSquareAccord, partnered with Dudley Council to to regenerate the site, which forms part of a wide scale investment around the Waterfront in Brierley Hill.

Fiona Fell, regeneration manager at GreenSquareAccord said: “We are really pleased that our investment into the local community has brought life to a disused industrial site and helped to regenerate the area.

"These high quality homes are helping to meet regional demand for affordable housing for local people. I’m sure the new residents will be very happy here.”

The new homes were built by mixed-tenure developer, Countryside and started in December 2018.

Adam Daniels, managing director at Partnership West and South Midlands, Countryside, said: “Reaching completion and handover of new homes is the most rewarding part of what we do, to see the impact our work has on families who now call this new community ‘home’.

"Our mission is to work closely with our partners to understand the local needs and to ensure we build much more than houses - to create sustainable communities where local people can thrive.”

The development received £2.1m funding support from Homes England.
