PLANS to build two homes near a Cradley school and park have been given the go ahead despite objections.

The homes will be built on part of the garden at 6, Church Road, near Cradley CofE School and Homer Hill park.

Outbuildings and an unsightly extension to the house will be demolished to make way for the three-bedroom semis fronting Church Road with their gardens onto Blue Ball Lane.

Each will have two parking spaces.

The proposal from All Star Developments, had attracted two objections on the grounds of a reduction in parking spaces on Church Road, increased disruption, closeness to the entrance to a school, loss of outlook and light and increased traffic and congestion as well as the new homes being out of character.

A report by council planners states: "The development would make a positive contribution to the character of the area and would not have any detrimental impact on residential amenity or highway safety."
