POLICE have arrested two men on suspicion of vehicle theft and theft from a vehicle after a pursuit in Dudley.

Whilst on patrol, officers spotted the wanted cloned car which had been involved in multiple thefts from vehicles in Kingswinford.

A spokesperson for Brierly Hill Police C team said: "We signalled to the driver to stop however he made off at speed driving dangerously and overtaking vehicles.

"We pursued the car to the Wrens nest estate, Dudley where the car gave up, due to damage it had sustained.

"The two occupants surrendered and we swiftly handcuffed them.

"Checks revealed that the car was on false plates and that it had been stolen from Oldbury earlier this month."

Officers also located stolen items and tools within the car.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, theft of motor vehicle, theft from motor vehicle and going equipped to steal.

The passenger was arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle, theft from motor vehicle, going equipped and possession of controlled drugs."

The car has now been recovered and the males remain in custody.
