A POLICE incident outside a pub in Stourbridge has left neighbours feeling "shocked" and "scared."

A car crashed outside the Gigmill pub on South Road last night (Friday, June 18) and residents reported seeing police and ambulances just after 10pm.

Piara Virdee, also known as Pete, lives opposite the pub on the Broadway and said he saw a helicopter circling the area last night.

He said he heard a "big bang" coming from over the road followed by the sound of "girls screaming."

Stourbridge News:

Mr Virdee said: "We saw the car smashed and people screaming and arguing. It took around ten minutes for police to come. We had no idea what was going on."

Mrs Virdee also shared her horror following the incident and said she "didn't feel safe."

She said: "It's just very shocking to see. I don't want to see anything like that again. It didn't feel safe last night."

Stourbridge News:

"It was like something out a movie, all those ambulances and police.

"We were all shocked and scared - we didn't want to go to sleep. It makes you wonder if anywhere is safe anymore."

We have contacted West Midlands Police for further information, but they are yet to respond.
