PUPILS at North Bromsgrove High School have organised a social action project in support of The Basement Project, a young persons homeless charity in Bromsgrove.

A group of year 9 and 10 students were the brain power behind a celebration day on June 18 in support of World Music Day, PRIDE and to raise funds for the homeless charity.

The school say the day is about coming together as a community and spreading happiness and all the colours of the rainbow - an ongoing symbol of hope to many during these very challenging Covid times.

There was live music and dance performances throughout the day in the school's Atrium.

Miss Katy Travers from North Bromsgrove High School said, “We are very proud of our students for their efforts to support such a vital local charity. Community links are so important to us as a school.”

Kelly Turner, community fundraiser for The Basement Project said, "North Bromsgrove have always been very supportive of The Basement Project, and I would like to thank all of the students who are raising money for us this year - every penny will go to helping local young people in crisis.

"Without the support of the local community, we wouldn't be able to support the vulnerable young people who come to us for help on a daily basis."

The Basement Project provide support for people ages 16 to 25 across North Worcestershire, who are homeless or facing homelessness.
