A WORRIED Brierley Hill parent has told how her son was followed on his way to school.

The mum, who took to social media site Next Door to warn other mums and dads of the incident, told how her 12-year-old son was walking to The Wordsley School via Hawbush Road when a black Audi pulled up alongside him.

She said a tall, bald man wearing a black hoodie got out of the car started following the youngster on Monday morning (July 12) and she added: "My son got his phone out and went down an alley where the man continued to follow him."

However, the schoolboy ran home and the family alerted police about the incident which unfolded between 8.40am and 8.55am.

The worried mum has now urged parents to "ask your kids to be vigilant out there" and she has also urged anyone with CCTV or video doorbells to check their footage for the vehicle or any suspicious behaviour.

West Midlands Police confirmed the incident had been reported to them and a spokesperson said: "We understand the boy was not spoken to or touched; no offences were disclosed.

"Details of the suspicious activity has been passed to the local police team, including a description of the man and car, for their observations when on patrols."
