A HARDWORKING Wall Heath teenager has opened his first barber shop - at the age of 19.

Luke Bonneywell has launched Grizzly Barber Shop on Hagley Road, Halesowen.

The go-getting teen has been working in the trade since the age of just 14.

He said: "I started out in a barbers shop while I was at school sweeping the floor and making teas.

"I moved up to managing.

"It's good to start early - I've been doing it for so long I knew what to expect.

"After the year we have had I wanted to do something positive and to look forward to a fresh start."

Luke, who attended The Wordsley School, lives in Auckland Road, Kingswinford, with his parents and younger brother.

He started work at PR barbershop in Wombourne aged 14, before deciding to take the leap and start his own shop.

So far it has been going really well with Luke saying: "It's great to meet new faces and new clients and chat to new people.

"It's great to be in the town."

Stourbridge News:

People don't have to wear masks in the shop and as a general rule Luke isn't - but if someone wants to they can and he would too if a customer requested he did.

He said: "It's nice to see things getting back to a bit of normality - back to how it used to be."

The shop is running an offer of ten per cent off for anyone who works or plays for Halesowen Town FC.
