STOURBRIDGE Choir and Orchestra is starting rehearsals again after the longest time without in its history.

The long-running group was formed in 1884 and even two world wars had not interrupted its playing and singing.

Covid-19, however, forced arts and entertainment groups to fall silent - so SCO's rehearsals and performances have been on hold since the pandemic hit.

The choir, one of only two amateur choirs in the UK to have their own orchestra to accompany them, rehearses in the church at the corner of Witton Street and Glebe Lane, off South Road in Stourbridge at 7.30pm on Tuesdays.

All are welcome. There is no need to be able to read music.

The orchestra meets in the Unicorn Centre, Brettell Lane, Amblecote, on Mondays at 7.30pm.
