STOURBRIDGE gym members have handed over £273 to Mary Stevens Hospice after staging an array of fundraisers to mark the venture’s first birthday.
Members at the Gym Group in Birmingham Street, which opened last summer, took part in a charity bike ride from 8am to 8pm on August 2, as well as staging a fundraising coffee and cake day on August 3 and a DJ evening on August 4.
They have since handed over a cheque for £272 to Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge which provides care to those with terminal illnesses and life-limiting conditions across the Dudley borough and surrounding areas.
General manager Richard Smith said: "The response to our first birthday events was brilliant and we thank our members for all the donations. It's amazing to see such a great community spirit in our gym and we are so proud of what we've achieved in just a year.”
