PEOPLE are invited to get advice on how they can improve their safety and wellbeing at a face-to-face event at Merry Hill next week.

Advisors from Dudley Council’s living well, feeling safe service will be offering help and support on Friday October 22 from 9am to 4pm on the lower mall near the customer service desk.

The service works to support vulnerable or older people to stay safe, healthy, well and independent in their homes and the event is for anyone who wants to feel healthier, who is feeling lonely or needs to make improvements around the home.

The team will be offering advice on home safety including pendant and personal alarms as well as adaptations.

It can also direct people to support for dementia patients, unpaid carers, weight management and activities going on in the community that help tackle loneliness.

Councillor Nicolas Barlow, Dudley's cabinet member for health and adult social care, said: "During the pandemic we’ve had to think differently about how we offer advice and support to residents, but I’m pleased we’re now able to see people face-to-face and discuss the support they need to feel well and feel safe.

"I will visit during the day and I hope people are able to join me and meet with the advisors. Anyone unable to be there can still contact the service for advice by calling 01384 817743.
