A POPULAR Stourbridge eaterie has picked up a top accolade at the English Curry Awards.

Bombay Pickles Indian restaurant and takeaway in Lower High Street has been named Restaurant of the Year for the West Midlands region at the awards which were held at the Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport-NEC on Monday October 18.

Little Bangla in Oldbury was named Bangladeshi Restaurant of The Year and Dudley Spice in New Street in Dudley was named Local Restaurant of the Year at the awards, which celebrate top Asian curry professionals and businesses.

The shortlist was determined by public vote and the awards were presented at a black tie event hosted by DJ Tommy Sandhu.

A number of other restaurants in the Stourbridge and Halesowen areas also made it to the final.

Balti Towers in Halesowen, Mozalicious in Oldbury, Indiluxe Restaurant in Amblecote, Stourbridge, were shortlisted for the Restaurant of the Year award, while Bombay Pickles was also a finalist for the Chef of the Year award.
