A MAN from Dudley has received a 14-week jail term, suspended for two years, after driving whilst disqualified.
Aminur Chowdhury of Taylor Road drove a vehicle in Ramila Close on November 16 while disqualified from holding a licence.
He also drove the car without insurance and a test certificate.
The 23-year-old must be under curfew with electronic monitoring for six months from November 17 and was fined £650.
Chowdhury was ordered by Wolverhampton magistrates to pay a £128 victim surcharge and £135 in costs.
He is disqualified from holding a driving licence for two years and his driving record.
Meanwhile, a man from Tipton has been handed a community order after carrying an offensive weapon.
Lakvinder Bhatti of Bissell Close was found in possession of a kubotan, a self-defence key chain weapon, at Oldbury Custody Suite on October 31.
The 52-year-old also failed to provide a breath specimen to officers during an investigation.
Bhatti must carry out 150 hours of unpaid work within the next twelve months and was ordered to pay £185 in costs and a victim surcharge of £95.
He is disqualified from holding a driving licence for 29 months.
A Halesowen man has been handed a community order after drink driving.
Mohannathan Swaninathan drove a vehicle on Dudley Road after consuming 137 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The 43-year-old must carry out 150 hours of unpaid work in the next twelve months and pay £135 in costs and a victim surcharge of £95.
Swaninathan is disqualified from holding a driving licence for nine months.
Another man from Halesowen has been convicted of drink driving.
Richard Smith of Bloomfield Street North drove a vehicle on Bloomfield Street North after consuming 82 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The 27-year-old was fined £370 by Dudley magistrates and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £37 and £135 in costs.
Smith is also disqualified from driving for 17 months.
