POLICE have arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of murder after a pensioner was found dead in Halesowen earlier this week.
Officers gained entry to a home in Manor Lane on Monday (November 15) following concerns raised by neighbours who had not seen the man for several days.
A 78-year-old was found collapsed on the living room floor. He had been dead for a number of days.
A post mortem examination could not determine his exact cause of death, but it’s believed to have been caused following a burglary at his house.
Detective Inspector Ranj Sangha said: “We’re supporting the man’s family at this incredibly upsetting time.
“While we have collected a lot of information and evidence, and made an arrest last night, we still urge anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area to please get in touch.
“We are looking for information dating back to the start of November.”
Those with further information are asked to call West Midlands Police on 101 or message them on Live Chat through their website.
People are asked to use crime reference 20/1884809/21 when making contact.
