KINVER Rotary Club's Santa Claus is coming back to town.

The familiar jingle of festive bells will soon be heard on the streets of Kinver and surrounding areas once more as Kinver Rotarians dust off their sleigh and bring Santa back after a two-year break due to Covid.

Members of Kinver Rotary Club will be taking their sleigh out and about in Kinver, Enville and parts of Wollaston and Wall Heath during December to help spread festive cheer and raise funds for local causes.

The club's popular sleigh outings have raised £136k since 1986, but the pandemic put the brakes on the fundraising festivities last year.

Thanks to the success of an earlier appeal by the club for volunteers, however, Santa and his sleigh will be back in action again this year in the run-up to Christmas.

Kinver Rotarian Roy Sanders, who has played a leading role throughout the life of the sleigh, said: “We have been delighted to receive a tremendous response to our request for volunteers. This has ensured that we will be able to visit all the regular routes and five primary schools, bringing Christmas cheer to the young and not-so-young.”

The sleigh routes are as follows:

Wednesday December 8: 5.30pm to 9pm - Kinver, Stourton.

Thursday December 9: 5.30pm to 9pm - Wollaston, Belfry Drive, Wollaston Court.

Saturday December 11: 9am to 5pm - Wollaston, Aldi
