A SHEET of lead which was about to fall from a building in Brierley Hill was removed by firefighters.
Police and firefighters were called to Brierley Hill High street on Monday (November 29) at 8.33pm.
They were worried the lead sheeting would fall and hit someone on the footpath.
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "A sheet of lead was leaning over the footpath from the roof of a three-storey building, which potentially posed dangers to members of the public.
"We cordoned off the area to safely remove the item and then left the scene at 8.50pm."
Brierley Hill police were at the scene helping.
They tweeted: "Tonight Fire assist PCSOs Hickman and Copson in Brierleyhill High Street. #fallinglead #firesavetheday."
