A BRIERLEY Hill motor trader has been hit with a court bill of £5,550 after admitting misleading customers and breaching unfair trading laws.

Martin Reeves, trading as KC Motor Services, of Belle Vue Road, Brierley Hill, pleaded guilty to four offences in a case finalised at Dudley Magistrates' Court on November 3.

He was fined £250 for engaging in a commercial practice which was misleading and contained false information - in relation to the sale of a Vauxhall Moveno - between July 16 and August 1, 2019.

The 51-year-old, who also admitted omitting material information from the sales invoice in relation to the sale of the car, was also ordered to pay a £50 surcharge to fund victim services and court costs of £2,500.

He was fined a further £250 after admitting engaging in a commercial practice which was misleading/containing false information in relation to the sale of a Honda VFR 1200 motorcycle on June 6, 2020.

No separate penalty was given for a further charge, of engaging in a practice which was aggressive by failing to provide his full identity on the sales contract as required and applying a four per cent credit card fee of £194 to the sales price of £4,850 - which he admitted.
