THE winners of a Christmas bauble competition held in Kinver to champion local businesses have been congratulated on their "astounding" efforts.

Three lucky winners and six runners up have been chosen from more than 70 entries in the Made in Kinver Christmas Bauble competition.

The competition was organised as part of the Made in Kinver initiative to help promote businesses and artisans in Kinver and surrounding villages and encourage people to engage with companies on their doorstep.

South Staffordshire County Councillor Victoria Wilson, Rev Richard Clarkson of St Peter’s Church, Kinver, and village entrepreneur Terry Gormley were judged the competition and head judge Mr Gormley, proprietor of Chenevare Mews, said: "It’s been a fantastic competition. The quality of the entries has been astounding and I’m so proud of the local community for taking part. That’s what we need going forward, more people engaging with the wonderful shops and businesses on our doorstep."

Cameron Jakeman won first prize for the under 12s category with his picture of Kinver High Street; Mia Pritchard won first prize for the 12s to 17s category with her Scandi pattern and Dawn Sant won the 18s and over category with a picture of St Peter’s Church and the Kinver Rock Caves.

Runners-up were Erin Siviter, Sophie Gollings, Jorja McKenna, Eleanor Madeleine Robson, Paul White and Shaun Siviter.

Prizes were donated by village businesses including FM Branding, Kinver Design and Marketing, Café No.5, Logfret (UK) Ltd and Adventure Trails MTB.
