A FORMER Kingswinford Academy student who runs a boxing gym was supported by a Dudley charity to donate items to the local foodbank.
Adam Waldron, who runs Ska Boys Boxing Academy in Brierley Hill which helps to get youngsters off the streets, was supported by The Saleem Foundation as they donated 55kg with of items to the Kingswinford Foodbank.
The donation will serve 110 meals.
Kingswinford councillor Shaz Saleem said: “I was very pleased to support Adam, who recently announced he is organising a charity boxing match on March 12 at Kingswinford Academy.”
Adam said: “I really wanted to give back to the community, I have a great mentor in Shaz who will be taking part in my charity boxing exhibition as we raise money for Papyrus UK - a suicide prevention charity for young people.”
Maya Garbett, who runs the Kingswinford Foodbank, said: "I'm very grateful for support from our local councillor and from Adam, the work we do here is so important but only possible with support from our local community.”
The foodbank runs every Friday from 9.30am to 11.30am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church, Kingswinford.
