KINVER Rotary Club has thanked volunteers who helped to ensure Santa could hit the streets with his sleigh and bring Christmas cheer to people across Kinver and beyond.
More than 50 men and women, young and not-so-young, offered to turn out to enable the club to undertake a complete tour of Kinver and Enville and the regular parts of Wollaston and Wall Heath with Santa and his sleigh.
The festive figure was also able to stop off at Aldi stores at Wollaston and Kingswinford, visit local care homes and support Mary Stevens Hospice's Santa Jog and collections along the way totalled a record £8,657 collection for local charities.
Rotarian Roy Sanders, who organised the sleigh outings, said: “The volunteers were brilliant. We could not have begun to organise the tour without the knowledge that so many people were willing to assist.
"We are indebted to all these men and women who helped us to undertake what has become an unmissable part of the run up to Christmas in our area – and collect thousands of pounds for local charities.”
