DUDLEY school pupils made Christmas cards and wrote festive well wishes for inpatients in hospital on Christmas Day.

After the success of their Inpatient Christmas Card Appeal over the last two years, The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust has once again reached out to local schools, asking students to donate handwritten Christmas cards to be shared with patients spending their Christmas at Russells Hall Hospital.

Church of the Ascension Primary School, Summerhill School, Pegasus Academy and Crestwood School and Sixth Form all got involved, bringing the total number of donated cards to more than 870.

The Trust’s chief executive Diane Wake said: “Our Inpatient Christmas Card Appeal has been a great success for the past couple of years, and it means so much to our inpatients to receive a card from our local students during their stay with us on Christmas Day.

“We are so grateful to all the local schools who have donated cards this year, and we know that our patients will love your festive drawings and messages just as much as we do. I’d like to thank them for bringing a smile to our faces at the end of what has been another difficult year for many.”
