PLANS for the creation of a new MOT centre in Lye have been given the green light.
HSR Auto Centre had applied to Dudley Council for a change of use from a vehicle repair garage to a garage and MOT centre.
The business is based on Attwood Street.
It has been given the go-ahead by planners, who said in the report that the change of use would create job opportunities in the area.
The officer’s report concluded: “The proposed development would help to provide additional job opportunities within the area and keep the building in a viable and suitable use.
“There would be no detrimental impact to amenity and there is sufficient car parking and no expected highways implications. As such the development would accord with policies of the Black County Core Strategy and Dudley Borough Development Plan.”
No alterations to the building are needed and the plan received no representations.
