Stourport Hockey Club's mens' 2nd XI travelled to Stafford to get their promotion push from the Midlands Mens' Division 4 West only for Stafford to take all three points with a 1-2 victory.
Stourport fielded a strong squad and took the lead through Nathan Claris, with a drag flick from a penalty corner.
Stafford equalised just before the break, despite an initial save by Kasim Abbas.
Neither side could get a hold of the game in the second half, with Stafford only scoring their second after an error in the Stourport defence.
Stourport still pushed forward having had two chances cleared off the line but was unable to get an equaliser.
