Stourport Hockey Club Men’s 1st XI 4-3 Edgbaston 1st XI:

Without any warm-up matches before the restart of their league season, Stourport men's 1st XI made it twelve wins out of twelve in the Midland Division 1, when they beat their hosts Edgbaston 1st's 4-3.

Stourport began the match with the best of starts with a trademark Stourport corner routine, with Andy Cavendish passing to Joe Schubert to take a 1-0 lead.

Edgbaston wasn't behind for long, a direct-through ball causing havoc in the Stourport defence, gave Edgbaston an equaliser. Stourport created chances through Callum Stanley, debutant Josh Appleby before Schubert added his and Stourport's second, after some slick interplay with Dan Hurley.

Again Edgbaston pulled themselves back onto level terms, shortly after which Stourport retook the lead, with Schubert's hat trick goal and his twenty-third goal in twelve matches.

Relentless, Edgbaston pulled back level with another goal on the counter-attack, but on the full-time whistle, Stourport was awarded a penalty corner.

The ball deflected off a defender to Cavendish who composed himself and found the back of the net with his shot for a hard-fought 4-3 victory for Stourport.

Stourport Men’s 5th XI 2-6 Bromsgrove 4th XI:

Stourport men's 5th XI had a bad start to the restart of their Midlands Men's Division 9 South West programme when they travelled to Bromsgrove where their host’s 4th XI beat them 2-6.

With Stourport's player of the match, Robin Conway keeping the score down to 0-4 at the break, Stourport went six goals down before they begin a strong fight back, with goals from Neil Farquharson in the fifty-fifth minute and a Lee Slipanczewski goal five minutes later pulled the score back to 2-6.
