STOURBRIDGE Repair Cafe will be back up and running in February.

The popular venture, which helps people to fix their beloved items, runs at St Thomas's Church Hall, Market Street, Stourbridge, opposite The Ryemarket, on the fourth Saturday of each month.

There will be no repair cafe this month but the volunteer repairers will be back on February 26, from 10am to 2pm, with the last item for repair taken at 1.30pm.

Volunteers skilled at a variety of repairs aim to help people avoid the need to buy replacement items and reduce the number of old possessions being sent to landfill.

Repair cafe spokesperson Marion Meadows said: "The variety of items brought in for repair never ceases to amaze and the talents and skills of our volunteers in repairing those items is awe inspiring.

"They are always up for a challenge and some items really are a challenge.

"We were geared up for our first session of the new year to take place but unfortunately as the Omicron variant has continued to spread the decision to not open in January has been taken. "Disappointing though this is we are now looking forward hopefully to running future sessions."

As well as the first opening of 2022, on Saturday February 26, the repair cafe will run on March 26 and April 23.
