TROUBLESOME Lye residents have been issued with warning letters over their anti-social behaviour.

Two residents have been sent letters by police after reports that their behaviour was causing alarm and distress to their neighbours.

The letter states: "You have been involved in acts of anti-social behaviour on the High Street, Lye, in particular the block of flats where you reside on the High Street.

"You have also been knocking the front doors to residents in the block you reside, which is causing them concerns and they want you to stop doing this straight away.

"As a direct result of your actions a number of persons have suffered or are likely to have suffered harassment, alarm or distress."

The letter warns the recipient that they must not knock on doors or cause disturbance through noise or shouting.

It goes on to say that if the anti-social behaviour doesn't stop police can take out a civil injunction and that breach of an injunction is is deemed contempt of court and and may result in a 'supervision order' or civil detention of up to three months.
