THE latest food hygiene scores for a host of eateries and pubs in the Stourbridge area have been published.

Most have scored top marks, according to the Food Standards Agency’s website, although one has been ordered to make a raft of improvements.

The following businesses have received a top rating of five following recent inspections:

Creative Coffee Hub at Merry Hill shopping centre, which was inspected on January 17

The Garibaldi Inn at Cross Street, Stourbridge, which was inspected on January 13

The Swan at 10 Brettell Lane, Brierley Hill, (inspected rated on January 11)

Extrawurst at Merry Hill Centre; (inspected on January 17)

Meanwhile, The Stourbridge Lion in Stourbridge High Street achieved a rating of four when it was inspected on December 14.

While Hong Kong House in Kinver Street, Wordsley, was given a rating of just one when inspected on December 13.

The FSA rates businesses from zero to five so that customers can make more informed choices about where to buy and eat food.

A rating of five means hygiene standards are very good, four means hygiene standards are good, three means hygiene standards are generally satisfactory, two means some improvement is necessary, a rating of one means major improvement is necessary and a rating of zero means urgent improvement is required.

People can see the results of all food hygiene inspections at eateries across the Dudley borough via Dudley Council’s website or on the national ratings.food.gov.uk website.
