FREEMASONS based in Stourbridge have handed over a cheque for nearly £2,000 to Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Worshipful brother Alan Thompson and his wife Joy handed over a cheque for £1,850 to the hospice, which offers palliative care and support to terminally ill youngsters and their families.
The donation was made as part of the Worshipful Masters Charity 2021 from St Kenelm Lodge at their new masonic hall, The James S Webb Masonic Freemasonry Centre in Stourbridge.
The money was raised through generous donations by lodge members, also from a table top events and from numerous items sold via the internet to help bolster the total sum.
It is hoped that a further donation will be made to Claire Snape, community fundraiser for Acorns Children's Hospice, making a grand total of £3,700 raised during the Covid-19 crisis at a time when masonic halls have been mainly closed.
