AN award-winning Stourbridge hair salon boss has marked eight years in business by thanking the local community for its continued support throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tim Scott-Wright, owner of The Hair Surgery in Meriden Avenue, in Wollaston, opened the salon back in February 2014 – transforming a former GP surgery into a top of the range hairdressers.

A leading name in UK hairdressing, Tim has won a host of industry awards and accolades over the years including the coveted title of Midlands Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards three times - an honour that made him one of the youngest hairdressers in the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame.

Tim, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the industry, said: “It was always a goal of mine to own my own salon and eight years later we are still going strong. I firmly believe that hair salons are hubs of the community and provide much more than a simple haircut. The Hair Surgery is a place for people to stay connected to their community and to feel good about themselves.”

Tim says that his salon’s success wouldn’t have been possible without the support of his clients and the local community.

He added: “It has been a tough couple of years for our industry and we simply wouldn’t have made it had it not been for the continued loyalty of our clients and the support and encouragement from our community as a whole.

“It really felt as though we were in this together and that was extremely comforting when times were tough.

“I know we will continue to thrive, and I would also like to thank my incredible team who have worked tirelessly to make sure our salon delivers high quality services day in and day out.”
