A KINGSWINFORD firm has been given the Royal seal of approval – having been chosen by Her Majesty The Queen to install a home lift at Balmoral.

There has been much speculation about the 95-year-old monarch’s mobility in recent weeks and it has been said she intends to spend more time at her Scottish estate, with media reporting plans had been approved for a lift to be installed in Craigowan Lodge on the 50,000-acre estate in Aberdeenshire.

Kingswinford based Stiltz Limited has confirmed it has been selected by Her Majesty to install a Trio+ wheelchair-friendly Homelift to help futureproof the monarch’s private cottage.

The specialist manufacturer, which holds the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise, said it was only fitting that a Stiltz product had been chosen by the Royal Family as Stiltz is a proudly British business.

No major structural alterations are required at Craigowan Lodge, as Stiltz dual rail technology carries the weight of the lift through a simple aperture between floors.

Stiltz says its lift solutions have been specifically developed for home use, not adapted from commercial applications, and a spokesman said: “This unique approach clearly appealed to the Windsors and was enhanced by efficient planning, installation and commissioning.”

Stiltz Homelifts co-founder Lachlan Faulkner added: “As a relatively young homelift company, we are especially honoured to have been chosen for The Queen’s Scottish residence.

“Through the support of our valued dealer network, popularity of our homelifts continues to strengthen year-on-year as more end users discover why our products deliver unparalleled enablement.

“This awareness has now reached the very top of society. We are extremely proud of this install and from everyone at Stiltz, we wish Her Majesty a memorable Platinum Jubilee year.”

Stiltz Limited is currently exhibiting at The National Homebuilding & Renovating Show at Birmingham’s NEC until March 27.
