THE Stourbridge Group of Midland Ancestors is holding an open day on Saturday April 23 for people interested in tracing their family history.

The free event, which will be held at St Peter’s Centre, Pedmore Lane, Stourbridge, from 11am to 4pm, is aimed at those who are new to family history but will appeal to all who are interested in following their family history journey and finding out more about their origins.

Members of the Stourbridge group will be able to assist people to gain online access to Ancestry and Findmypast websites.

There will also be a display of mining lamps and an expert to answer questions about the Black Country’s mining industry – past and present.

Group members will be available throughout the day to give help and advice, and a selection of books and informative literature will also be available for visitors.

Refreshments will be on sale.
