A PERSON has died after being struck by a train at Blakedown.
Emergency services were called to the line near Blakedown Railway Station, in Kidderminster, at around 10am today (Sunday May 1), where a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tragic incident, which led to the cancellation of services between Kidderminster and Stourbridge, is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “BTP officers attended the line close to Blakedown Railway Station on Sunday, May 1 2022, after a report that a person had been struck by a train.
“Officers from BTP and local police attended the incident, reported to police at 10.08am and are currently being treated as non-suspicious.
“Paramedics from the local ambulance service also attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
West Midlands Railway shared earlier today on social media that there are cancellations to services between Stourbridge Junction and Droitwich Spa.
All lines were blocked as a result of the incident.
