PEOPLE across Dudley interested in fostering are encouraged to take the first step by attending an online drop-in session as part of national Foster Care Fortnight.

The information session takes place on Wednesday May 11 from midday to 1pm and people can register to book their place for free by clicking here.

Foster Care Fortnight runs from Monday May 9 to Sunday May 22.

Catherine Driscoll, Dudley Council's director for children’s services, said: “This session will give people interested in fostering a chance to find out more and have their questions answered in a relaxed and informal environment.

"No one has to make a commitment when they attend the session, we’d just really like to hear from people who think they can offer a home to children looked after by Dudley borough.

"For those who can’t make it, our website fosteringindudley.org.uk is a great place to find out more."

The service is keen to hear from anyone interested in fostering but in particular from those who would like to care for teenagers, children with disabilities or those who could take more than one child so brothers and sisters can stay together.

They would also like to hear from people interested in long-term fostering.
