THE Stourbridge Shuttle has now returned to service after it stopped running to allow repair work to be carried out.

The service, which is run in conjunction with West Midlands Railway and links Stourbridge Town and Stourbridge Junction train stations, has been out of service since May 6 due to “track repairs and potential vehicle defects”.

The service is now back up and running today (May 12).

The service tweeted: “The Shuttle has now returned to service.

“Thank you to Network Rail for their great work and to our passengers for their patience and continued support.”

The shuttle, which runs on Europe's smallest branch line, was also out of action from March 30 to April 22, due to vehicle maintenance.

The service departs every 10 minutes from early morning until late evening with the journey taking only three minutes.
