A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape following an incident in Wordsley.
A woman was sexually assaulted in a wooded area close to Bells Lane at around 2.15pm on Saturday (May 14), police said.
A 35-year-old man from Dudley has been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape after police launched an appeal to track down the suspect.
He remained in police custody as officers carried out inquiries.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "A man has been arrested following a sexual assault in Wordsley on Saturday (May 14).
"The incident happened in a wooded area close to Bells Lane, Wordsley, at around 2.15pm on Saturday (May 14).
"The victim is being supported by specially-trained officers.
"A 35-year-old man, from Dudley, was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape."
They added: "He remains in police custody while inquiries continue."
