ALDI will be opening its revamped Wollaston store to customers this Thursday (May 26) from 8am.

Store bosses say the 850 sqm shop in Brignorth Road will offer a more customer-focused layout allowing shoppers to find the products they know and love more easily, while browsing new ranges.

The transformation is part of Aldi’s £600m investment into improving its stores and services across the UK, and is based on feedback from more than 50,000 customers.

The new-look Wollaston store, which will have more space and clearer signs, will boast extra space for Aldi's range of fresh British meat and fish, Lacura health and beauty products, award-winning beers, wines and spirits, Mamia babycare products, and a new and improved Food to Go section offering fresh salads, sandwiches and sushi for busy customers.

Fresh bread and cakes have been moved to the last aisle, to prevent them getting squashed under customers’ shopping, and the store will now offer new, easy to browse freezers.

Customers can also take a walk down the Aisle of Aldi, where they will find Specialbuys available every Thursday and Sunday.

During re-opening week, the store will be offering a range of products to help shoppers celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee, including jubilee decorations for £1.99, a gin teapot and teacups for £16.99 and Kevin the Carrot Jubilee soft toys for £3.99 each.

Aldi store manager Dave Evans said: “The store is looking fantastic, and we can’t wait to welcome our loyal customers back so they can see it for themselves.

"We’re committed to making sure that the shopping experience each customer enjoys in our stores is on a par with the products and services they’re used to.”

The store employs 28 staff members and the refurbishment will create additional jobs, Aldi bosses said.
