RENOWN local raconteur John Sparry will be recalling some of his reminiscences with a talk at Stourbridge's General Office in Hagley Road later this month.

John, who can also lay claim to being a historian, jazz musician, bookseller and writer will be revealing details over some of the interesting objects he has acquired on his travels over the years.

He claims to have the oldest piece of Sunlight soap in the Black Country plus stories about the objects and the people associated with his eclectic assemblage.

Well known for his bookshop in Wall Heath, John will also be selling some of his own publications during the evening.

His talk takes place on Wednesday, July 20th starting at 7pm and tickets, which cost £9.75, can be obtained online at generaloffice.co.uk
