FANS of traditional folk music are set for a treat following the formation of a brand new club.
Kinver Folk Club meet on the first Tuesday of every month at the Senior Citizens Hall and are looking to swell their numbers.
Founder Roger Tyler said: “We sing songs together which have stood the test of time over a number of generations. We sing from a long standing heritage!
“We are truly traditional club, perhaps the only one in the country which is, in some way, a reaction to the commercialisation of folk music and its dilution with American influences and modern singer-songwriter material."
The club next meet on August 2 and then September 6, starting at 7.30pm and entry fee costs just £3.
More information is available on the club’s Facebook group where examples of the songs are on offer.
