A MAN who was attacked in Lye High Street suffered "serious injuries" and remains in hospital - with the attacker still at large.
The 58-year-old victim suffered head injuries in the assault on Saturday (August 6) at around 9.30pm.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "A man has suffered serious injuries after being assaulted on the High Street in Lye.
"An ambulance and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene.
"The middle aged man had suffered multiple injuries.
"He was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to hospital for further medical care."
Police said today (Monday August 8) that the attacker, who is believed to be known to the victim, was still at large.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "The victim remains in hospital.
"No arrests at this stage. Enquiries continue.
"Anyone with information should call 101."
