A MEETING and exhibition is to be held next week by campaigners fighting to save Amblecote’s Corbett Meadow.
Members of Corbett Meadow Action Group will be at Holy Trinity Church, Vicarage Road, Amblecote, on Tuesday August 16 to talk to members of the public about a planning application that’s been submitted by developers Charles Church to build 84 homes on the site which is the last piece of undeveloped land in Amblecote.
The group wants to preserve the meadow and see it used to benefit people’s health as benefactor John Corbett intended when he bequeathed it to the people of Stourbridge. However, it is now owned by the NHS which wants to sell off any land deemed surplus to requirements and likely to generate a financial benefit.
An exhibition will take place in the church from 2pm for people to view display boards and a meeting will be held at 7pm to discuss the planning application (P22/1050).
