MORE than 25,000 people were inspired get active and take part in Dudley’s interactive Beat the Street challenge which has now come to an end.
The game, which concluded last Wednesday (August 10) saw 25,536 people walking, cycling and rolling for points and prizes during the six-week summer challenge.
Aneesa Malik, engagement coordinator for Beat the Street Dudley, said: “We’re delighted that so many people got involved in the Beat the Street game.”
She said as more than 100,000 active travel miles were achieved – a donation will be made to the Mayor of Dudley’s charities - the Black Country Toy Appeal, Macmillan Cancer Support and Tough Enough to Care.
She added that players will now receive a survey to assess the impact of the game.
Beat the Street Dudley, delivered by Intelligent Health, was commissioned by Dudley Council and the Canal and River Trust with support from the National Lottery via Sport England.
