PROPOSALS for a multi-storey car park at Russells Hall Hospital are set to be mulled over by planning chiefs next month.

The five-floor car park would be located at the back of the main hospital building and have room for more than 500 vehicles.

An area of temporary parking has been installed at the site and this would make way for the new car park under the plans, submitted by Dudley Group of Hospitals.

The car park would be place behind Block D with a five-space nursery car park also installed by the new parking area.

It is hoped the move will ease parking around the Pensnett Road site which has proved a major problem for residents over recent years with congested side streets surrounding the hospital.

Speaking at Monday night's full council meeting, Dudley Council leader David Caunt confirmed plans were due to be discussed at the Dudley Council Development Control Committee's next meeting on Monday March 17.
